Solution for Back/Vertebrae Compression Fracture
In a compression fracture of the vertebrae, the bone tissue of the vertebral body collapses. More than one vertebra in the back or neck may be affected. One of the most common causes of this condition is osteoporosis, but it can also be caused by a tumor or trauma to the back. When the fracture is caused by osteoporosis, it usually affects the vertebrae in the thoracic region (chest) and lower spine, and symptoms may get worse with walking.
Treatment
If the fracture is treated within 24 hours of injury, apply the Infratonic 8000 transducer gently to the affected area several times a day for a minimum of 20 minutes each. Therapy can also be applied through clothing or a plaster cast—even several inches away. Sometimes, it's most comfortable to start with the transducer 12 or more inches away, than gradually move it closer as the trauma is reduced. This helps keep the swelling down, so the body can produce and retain Hyaluronic acid in the traumatized area.

My patient is an 86-year-old woman who had fallen flat on her back on a cement sidewalk and could not move. Her digestive system seemed to shut down, as she reported being constipated. She was in such pain, I could not perform any range of motion or orthopedic tests. Once we did get an x-ray, it revealed compressed fractures of her T-12 and L-1 vertabrae, but she had no bruising.
I placed the Infratonic transducer directly over the site of pain for 20 minutes at low. This experience has rekindled my respect for the Infratonic. Incidentally, the patient came into my office last week because she was taking a 12 -day Caribbean cruise and wanted a session with the Infratonic for her knee. Two months ago she had fractured vertebrae. It is truly an amazing tool in any healing process.
