Solutions for Foot Fractures, Splits or Breaks

A foot fracture (split or break) occurs when more pressure is put on a bone than it can stand. If the broken bone punctures the skin, it is called an open—or compound—fracture. A stress fracture is a hairline crack in the bone that develops because of repeated or prolonged force against the bone. Some symptoms of a broken foot include a visibly out-of-place or misshapen limb or joint, swelling, bruising, or bleeding, intense pain numbness and tingling, broken skin with bone protruding, limited mobility or inability to move a limb.

Treatment
If the fracture is treated within 24 hours of injury, apply the Infratonic 8000 transducer gently to the affected area several times a day for a minimum of 20 minutes each. Therapy can also be applied through clothing or a plaster cast—even several inches away. Sometimes, it's most comfortable to start with the transducer 12 or more inches away, than gradually move it closer as the trauma is reduced. This helps keep the swelling down, so the body can produce and retain Hyaluronic acid in the traumatized area.

I'm a runner and frequently sustain local aches and pains from marathon training. Infratonic Therapy helps me get through those days. On one particular day, however, I broke the fourth metatarsal bone in my foot. I was experiencing some level of pain but continued to run on it for about six more miles until the pain was so intense that I had to stop running and call a cab to take me back to my car.

After a few weeks I started to feel much better and decided to jump rope at the gym—but my foot began hurting much worse again. I continued the treatments twice daily with the Infratonic. Thanks to my Infratonic, I was able to continue working every day without pain medication, and I have just run my first marathon since the incident.
