Solutions for Ear Pain

An earache can be associated with either a sharp, dull, continuous piercing or burning pain behind the ears. The pain may be temporary or constant. Ear pain in children is often caused by a build-up of fluid and pressure behind the eardrum, in the area called the middle ear. The middle ear is connected to the nasal passages by a short narrow tube, the Eustachian tube, which allows normal fluids to drain out of the middle ear, and helps keep the pressure in the ear equalized.

Ear pain in adults is less likely to be from an ear infection, and more likely to be the result of pain in another location, such as the Temporo-Mandibular joint, teeth, throat, or other location. This is called “referred” pain.

Treatment
Apply the Infratonic 8000 transducer behind the ear for 2 to 5 minutes, then treat the neck just below ear (sub-maxillary glands) and the inside of the wrist. Finish with 5 minutes of treatment over the thymus (in the upper anterior portion of the chest cavity) for immune enhancement.

A 69-year-old Caucasian female was complaining of dizziness and loss of equilibrium—which she had suffered for the last three years after an inner ear infection. Her doctor diagnosed the problem as “Eustachian Tube Dysfunction” and was unable to help, explaining the patient would have to learn to live with it.

Over the course of 11 treatments in two months, I then began treating this patient first with cervical spine adjustments, then with Infratonic Therapy (for 10 minutes on each ear at the following points: covering the ear, below the ear angled superiorly, and above the ear angled inferiorly). During the first 3-5 treatments, the patient felt her ears draining and popping, and noticed improved equilibrium after the second treatment, as well as better hearing after the third treatment. She was soon able to golf and bowl without losing her balance for the first time in three years.
